Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts program will provide students with an opportunity to showcase their creative talents and learn about different cooking styles and cuisines locally and globally.  The first goal is to help students learn the basics of cooking including technique, measurements and safety. Students will learn about meal prep and how to read recipes and about proper cooking etiquette. After, students will be able to use their creative talents to prepare simple dishes leading up to difficult dishes. Our theme is ‘Local & Farm Fresh” and we will collaborate with the LHS FFA who will help to provide items grown in their garden.  Our goal is to have our ‘Master Chef” students teach other students how to prepare wonderful dishes. Students will also have an opportunity to earn a Safe Serve certification which will allow students to work in entry level position in Culinary Arts.
