Polk Afterschool Program
We are a free extended learning program that serves Polk Elementary’s 1st-6th grade students. AB 1567 requires after school programs to give first priority enrollment to pupils who are identified as homeless youth or foster youth.
Camp Polk has four main elements of program, including daily academic support in core subject areas and homework assistance, rotating enrichments, a free daily snack, and weekly physical activity clubs. Enrichment classes include but are not limited to; arts, intramural sports, health and fitness, foreign language, and nutrition. Students take surveys to gather information on their interests and foster youth voice and leadership so that students take ownership of their program.
